Khao Thai Cuisine for food, Tiki Easy for drinks.
The Chemist is also a great place for drinks. I had lunch at Daddy Mac's last trip. It's worth skipping.
Asheville Tourists games are fun too.

The off-sides thing drives me nuts
There should be no off-sides in the goal area box. It's too tight and if you can squeeze in there as an offensive player, good for you.

I don't remember it being in the 60s?
I remember warming my hands by the grill, copious amounts of brown water, and ruining leather gloves on said grill and from eating a smoked turkey leg like a caveman. Losing the game didn't help either.

Winning the state title too. AJâs a well rounded student and great person. NCSU is getting a good one.

A group called Timeless Gem Family Guitars bought it
I'm not sure who the money is behind it but it's a group that keeps the guitars and loans them out to musicians. They have several of Jerry's Doug Irwin made guitars. Warren Haynes was playing Jerry's Wolf recently and it's part of this collection.

I think it's posturing for the next divisional split
When the P2 creates their top tier division, NDSU doesn't want to be 2 steps below that. They want to be with the +/- 88 schools to compete for the G5 (insert new name) title. I expect other schools to do similar as 2030 gets closer.

For points 1 & 4, I think you will have cities and states lobbying to keep
a game in their stadium. I don't see Dallas, Atlanta, Charlotte, Indy, losing a weekend of tax rev. without a big fight. Add Vegas and KC for your 6 game scenerio.
I'm all for on-campus games but that may fall on the sword to keep those folks and the politicians that rep. them happy.

They are, and Alabama took their spot
but the the tantrum in the media is protesting too much.
Their schedule next year looks similar to FSU in the 1990s ACC next year. 80% of the games feed of the bottom of the B1G, ACC, G5. Their SOS should be near 100 but for them to miss being in the top 12 at the end of the year will take herculean turn-arounds from their opponents.

That may have been building behind the scenes for a while
but ND's response is more of a jilted lover's emotional lashing out.
I still think there is a Mag7 club cooking something for when the window to leave gets closer, but I think they'll have help from the P2 / P4 elites that want to reshape a top football division.

Just reduce their ACC payment by what ever they would have brought to the
pool of $ by playing in the bowl.

So who are the 6 that make the cut at 40
Assuming the SEC and B1G don't boot anyone.
VT better hope 48 is the number.
In my perfect world, 64 would be the number with eight 8 school divisions based on regions and historical rivalries. Play 7 division games. Schedule one G5 or below-the-cut-line P4 school in the first 3 weeks. Have three out of division games.
Playoffs: Have 3rd place division vs. 2nd place division for a "wildcard game" at Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, Vegas, Indy, KC, LA, DC the same weekend as typical conference championship games. Take a bye week (Army vs. Navy, new G5 playoffs?) then reseed the bracket for home hosts 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, etc.

When / If ACC schools leave for greener pastures, I bet it will happen
Syracuse, BC, Duke, Wake would fit in well with the Big East.
I think VT, UVa, UNC, NCSU, Clemson, FSU, Miami, GT all check out of the ACC - or reform it under a new name. It's going to be a football version of the Metro --> GMWC conference breakup. Louisville, Pitt, SMU, Cal, Stanford will have to figure out where to go. L'ville, Pitt, SMU seem like good Big 12 additions. Some from the Mag8 may end up with that group too if there isn't a new conference born.

Why stand in the sun if you can sit in the shade?
or sit in a shaded hole.
I was always leery of the utility panel in the sidewalk on Draper Rd, near the Rivermill / BS&T. It's a trap door waiting to happen.

New England sunrise was an unexpected surprise when I traveled to Maine
from western VA. I had a VRBO with a skylight in the master bedroom and at 4:45 sunlight is hitting my face. It was at that point that geography dawned on me.

It reminds me of the old marble roller coaster sets you built as a kid.
All exposed steel beams and posts, bracing, steel decking ramps. At least the mass of Lane's concrete underbelly skews the sight-lines.
They did have pretty awesome stadium food for a cold day.

I do wonder if those âvalue addsâ means more expansion
Around 2031. Value in UConn, Kansas, or Arizona basketball. Utah, ASU, Colorado to round things out and be a behemoth on a conference.

To convince Netflix, the ACC could give them access for
reality shows with the "stars" of the league, behind the scene shows, Real Housewives of ACC Coaches, Pimp My Ride, etc. Those type of shows would grab more eyes than just the games. My wife gets sucked into absolute crap reality shows on Netflix that send me to a far away corner of the house. Throw in some football and the sport fan may tolerate it a little more.
It's a horrible idea for the student, player, school, coaches; other than $$$.

The owners are an off-shore company that was not paying property taxes
and doing nothing with the site other than let it fall into disrepair. They would pay a small % of the taxes owed at the last minute to avoid it being confiscated. I drove by it yesterday and kind of shook my head at how bad it looked, thinking the city just needed to bulldoze it all. Most buildings had broken windows, broken doors, and had become a homeless encampment. I would guess that a fire for heat started it all.

Are y'all ready for Shawn Quinn as DC?
What high-level DC is going to take the job without bringing in his guys as position coaches, either all or a couple?
We're either looking at more defensive coaches being fired, promoting within, or someone a year or two away from retirement that puts in a system to learn from.

Ethics gripe
I received a Christmas card from someone I know whose spouse is a state politician. It looks like a typical Shutterfly-type card printed on card stock, photos of the family, well wishes statement, etc. At the bottom of the card in the tiniest font ever it reads, "Paid for by The X for Elected Office Campaign". It just strikes me as unethical to take campaign funds to pay for your Christmas cards, professional photographer, for a photo that has nothing to do with running for office. Bah Humbug!

I want SEC playoff contenders to lose
So that even if they have a bunch of 3 loss schools get in, their contenders have to travel north for the first round.
My "stars align" guide:
GT over UGa for the Dawgs' 3rd loss.
Texas over A&M knocks the Aggies out with 4 losses.
Texas over UGa in the SECCG.
Auburn over Bama knocks the Tide out with 4 losses.
Miss State over Ole Miss for the Rebels' 4th L.
Vandy over Tenn. The Vols would likely be in the last SEC spot with 3 loses.
Clemson over USC. 4th lose for the Cocks and gives Clemson a playoff spot - likely hosting a game.
SMU over Cal
Miami over Cuse. Then SMU over Miami. If everything happens above the SEC, there is a chance Miami stays in the fold.
Iowa State over KState
Arizona over ASU. Then Iowa State over BYU next weekend.
Purdue over Indiana
Michigan over OSU - better chance of me winning PowerBall.
USC over ND.
Oregon State over Boise State likely knocks the Broncos out if Tulane and UNLV win, and win again in their CCG. That G5 spot could have an unranked team as their rep if Boise drops two games in a row. Would Army eek back in with the AAC championship?
That would put my conference champs byes at:
#1 OSU
#2 Texas
#3 SMU
#4 Iowa State
and the rest of the field.
#12 Tulane at #5 Penn State
# 11 UGa at #6 Orgeon
#10 Tennessee at #7 Clemson
#9 ND at #8 Miami
I'm sure I'm missing something here, beside that 4 SEC schools will find a way in.

If I'm designing any expansion
I would keep the North Endzone bleachers as-is and build a huge Torgeson Bridge-type structure behind the NEZ bleachers. There's a small footprint available between it and the practice field, so going up and over may be a way to maximize the space. Fill the inside of the bridge with luxury suites, football offices, a turret for Skipper to be seen in Lane.
Penn State has their video board on the moon comparing it's height above the field. VT could build a new one above the SEZ and it would still be lower than PSU. I also like how Bama has 4 smaller video boards in the corners of their stadium.

They're going all in on track & field
Neither golf or swimming was competitive in the ODAC and definitely not in the D2 SAC. Hell, baseball there has been bad since I was in school!
They've been constructing a new track and soccer facility so they are taking the Field of Dreams approach to attract students.
